DRDO Dy. Chief direction inaugurating ACIC-SGTU website

Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Joshi, Deputy Director of BrahMos Aerospace, launched the official website of Atal Community Innovation Centre (ACIC) during his visit to SGT University.

In his session “Bridging.... A New Way of Managing Innovation for Societal Impact”, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Joshi stressed on the importance of a problem statement in any research project. He stated that the objective of the problem statement should be justifiable and it must address the issues in society and fill a void for the industry and the Government.

A dedicated “Problem Statement Portal”

He further recommended the need for a dedicated “Problem Statement Portal” in our country: the portal would serve as a medium for creating awareness of the problem statements and drive experimentation for their solutions. Dr. Joshi understands that this would help bridge the gap in academia-industry-government relations which would in-turn create a pathway for the country’s development, prosperity and self-reliance.

The deputy director of DRDO also emphasized on the need for building a healthy partnership through the example of "BrahMos Aerospace", a joint venture between DRDO and NPOM. He remarked how this achievement enabled India to design, develop and market the BrahMos missiles on a global level. He further showcased the product development stages of BrahMos missiles and then briefly discussed the future project- the BrahMos II missile.
